Description: Antique miniature map of Devonshire with original outline colour; decorative border, by Aristide Michel Perrot, published in Paris, 1823. Engraved by Adrien Migneret (1786 - 1840), the text by George Bernard Depping. The text for this French topographical work on Britain was written by George Depping, the maps being drawn by Aristide Perrot and engraved by A. Migneret. Engraved in 1823, first published in 1824, with subsequent editions in 1828 and 1835.
Condition: Minor age toning, early hand colouring.

Published his decorative miniature maps in the geographical work L'Angleterre ou Description
Historique et Topographique by George Bernad Depping. In six volumes with 75 maps and views and distinctive due to the inclusion of illustrations depicting local 'produce' and typical scenes. Depping was born in Munster, Ireland in 1784, later moving to Paris and taking French citizenship.
