Description: Includes the names of European and Indian cities, forts, castles and gold and silver mines. Also features to the North West, The Galápagos Islands. The fictional Prime Lake in the South of Guiana with the definitely fictional city of Manoa, o el Dorado at the western end! The Amazon Basin is described by 'This Country and its Inhabitants are very little known', a similar annotation is also applied to the fictional Iarajes or Xarayes Lake that forms the headwaters of the La Plata. The map is decorated with a rococo cartouche a compass rose. Mexico depicted as 'New Spain'.
Condition: Good imprint, later hand colouring, right margin closely cropped to border.
